By FNE Staff

WARSAW: The Polish arm of France's Canal+ (www.canalplus.pl) will merge its pay TV with Poland's TVN (www.tvn.pl) in a single DTH platform, TVN parent company ITI (www.iti.pl) announced.

The resulting platform will have a subscriber base of more than 2.5 million.

Canal+ is acquiring a minority stake in N-Vision, which gives the company indirect control of TVN, with an option to acquire the rest of the controlling stake in TVN. The agreement is expected to be finalized by the end of the year.

TVN Stock rebounded slightly on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since the Canal+ deal was announced last week, but stocks are still down 13.4%, closing at 12.30 PLN on Friday, 3 November 2011.
